Meet JOSE,

Jose E. Garay is Founder and Owner of J.D. Glass, Inc. Four decades in commercial glazing stand behind the company he built, and the standards he set in the field — accurate takeoffs, clean installations, and work that holds up long after the punch list closes — remain the standards the company operates by today.

His career covers nearly every seat in the trade. He began as a glazier, working the glass himself, and moved from the field into superintendent work, running crews and managing installations from layout through closeout. From there he moved into estimating, where he learned to read a set of drawings for what it would actually cost to build, and then into the role of Vice President of Sales, where he built the relationships with general contractors and owners that still form the backbone of the company's client base. Before J.D. Glass took its current form, he operated under the EZ Glass name, the business from which today's company grew.

Alongside his work in glazing, Jose has built a substantial real estate portfolio, with several multifamily residential properties to his name. That experience gives him a clear view of construction from the owner's side of the table — what a building costs to carry, where schedule slippage does real damage, and what an owner is actually buying when they buy a scope of work.

Jose is the father of two. Outside the business, he is most often found at the beach with his grandchildren.
